US Army Special Forces Airborn
Forces of a special purpose of the USA, more known as "Green berets". They and only they can be called as SPECIAL TROOPS. All other divisions have designations as "Forces of Special Operations".
"Green berets" in a modern kind have been created in 1952. The further development of these parts has been connected with the concept of president John Kennedy which considered that large-scale wars with the countries of the Soviet block are improbable, therefore the emphasis at building of armed forces of the USA should become on ability to wage guerrilla and counterguerrilla war in different regions of the world. At Kennedy number of parts ССО of army of the USA has considerably grown. "Green berets" have taken active part in the Vietnamese war, in war with Iraq of 1991 and in hundreds known and little-known operations worldwide, on all continents, excluding, perhaps that, Antarctica.
Mission of "green berets" - nonconventional ways of conducting war, strategic or special investigation, road operations, the organization of insurgent, guerrilla and subversive and terrorist actions, rendering assistance to foreign allies in maintenance of their internal security, fight against terrorism and the international criminality, maintenance of operations on rendering of the humanitarian help, search and rescue operations, psychological operations, operations of information character and the operations interfering distribution of weapons of mass destruction.
To ССО armies of the USA 160 the Special Wing (160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment) also concerns. Its problems: aviasupport of SpN of army of the USA and carrying out of the special operations connected with investigation, transportation and evacuation.
